ADHD Awareness Month

Updated: Oct 20, 2022

Did you know, ADHD is one of the most common mental health conditions affecting children and adults? The prevalence of ADHD in the adult population is between 3% and 4% but the majority of these individuals are still undiagnosed and ADHD is so often misunderstood.

ADHD Awareness Month's goal is to correct these misunderstandings and highlight the shared experiences of the ADHD community – and we think that’s great!

ADHD & Neurodivergence in our industry:

According to the BCS (The Chartered Institute for IT), ‘Neurodiversity remains an overlooked issue in the tech industry — employment rates for neurodiverse people remains low and stigma remains.’

However, a growing number of companies are recognising that it’s not only right to offer opportunities to all, but people who think differently provide a competitive advantage and help to create an inclusive environment for everyone. And here at Cunning we totally agree!

We love this article ‘Top Ten ADHD Advantages in a High Tech Career' by Pete Quily, Adult ADHD Coach, as it highlights perfectly the advantages someone with ADHD can bring to a tech workforce that people may overlook (check out our graphic for the headlines) https://addcoach4u.com/adhd-advantages-in-high-tech-career/
